Kanira returned from her husband’s funeral and declared a month’s holiday to all the servants in the mansion. The bankers, car insurance officers and police-men who were waiting for her arrival, took her signatures and left. Loss of her husband at such a young age was a blow to her… After all… car accidents don’t whisper in your ear before arrival!

The entire mansion was silent… All the old days flashed before her and she ran towards her bedroom. The sound of her heels echoed in the dead quiet mansion… She sat on her bed, gazed at the ivory ceiling, lay down for a moment and thought aimlessly. After few minutes she turned in her bed and reached the drawer of her dressing table, pulling it open. She took out a comb and stood in front of the mirror brushing her hair. A tear formed at the corner of her eye and soon trickled down her rosy cheek. She went on brushing. Another tear formed, and it too fell down… She continued brushing…More tears formed and fell… She continued brushing…

Now her eyes were blood red and sea was gushing from them… At last, she let out a squeal and wept wholeheartedly. Then she calmed down wiping her eyes and started brushing her hair again.

A breeze entered through the window and blew her hair… she combed them again, and noticed that she looked beautiful while crying. Her eyes, cheeks, and lips, looked bright red..like a new born baby! There was no need of make-up… She stood in different angles and smiled a bit. Now, she noticed that she looked more beautiful while smiling. Oh heaven! When does one look most beautiful? She thought to herself and threw off her engagement ring. ‘Maybe, when one is free!’ She boasted and looked into the mirror for one more time. This time she looked the most beautiful! She started combing her hair again and thought about her tyrant husband who was nothing less than a demon…

A tear formed at the corner of her eye and trickled down her rosy cheek. Kanira took a deep breath, feeling proud of herself… She was successful to turn the murder into an accident, and that was finally her successful attempt!
Breathing became blissful then onward…
